Jayant SAWANT

I am fortunate to have a unique academia-Industry blended professional background spanning over three decades in the domain of chemistry. An organic chemist by training having earned my Masters’ Degree in Organic Chemistry followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai. I also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR University and I am a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. 

During the early phase of my career I was associated with University of Mumbai, as a Lecturer and Coordinator for their Sub Center at Ratnagiri (MS). I established two post graduate courses, viz. M.Sc (Environmental Science) and M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry). During this tenure I was actively involved in teaching post graduate students and overseeing administrative activities.

During my seventeen year industrial career with Praj Industries Ltd, I was deeply involved in the domain of Biofuels and Biochemicals, where my contributions have been transformative leading to significant filing of patents, publishing book chapters and research papers in National and international journals. Istrongly believes in Sustainable Innovation and I am a Certified Sustainability Coach (Swiss Learning Exchange – Cohort 4).
