The world economy runs on oil and extraction of oil and gas from miles beneath the earth’s surface has become a complex process and a challenging task. The advances in technology and development of several downhole tools have enabled us to harness this hard to reach form of energy.

In this course, learners will know why oil and gas operations are complex, challenging and expensive, and how downhole tools enable these operations. They will be able to understand about the harsh environment in which these tools operate.

After the completion of this course, learners would be familiar with main downhole tools and their functioning. Learners will also be familiar with some key upstream operations.
