The topics that will be covered in this course will be –
1. What is ASME B31J?- Brief history behind its developments.
2. Technical background leading to development of ASME B31J-Theoretical and experimental works.
3. The concepts of header and branch flexibility factors-Theoretical and experimental background.
4. Differences between Appendix D of ASME B31.3 2018 edition and B31J- Background Theory.
5. Computer implementation of ASME B31J requirements-Some examples from commercial pipe stress programmes.
